DIVING ACCIDENT INSURANCE or DIVE TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Are you planning to dive in another country or away from home? If so, you need to be protected also for non-diving scenarios such as illness, accident, lost diving days, cancellation or interruption of your trip, missing your liveaboard boat and many other such unexpected events in addition to a diving accident. If you dive only locally, a diving accident policy will cover you and may suffice.
SINGLE TRIP or ANNUAL MULTI-TRIP TRAVEL INSURANCE?
If you plan on traveling three times or more during the next year you should look into buying an annual multi-trip travel policy. You will be covered for any number of trips throughout the year – whether diving trips or non-diving vacation. Even business trips are covered.
PRIMARY COVERAGE or SECONDARY COVERAGE?
A Primary insurance policy will reimburse you regardless of any other insurance policy that may cover your case, thus guaranteeing expeditious payment and no change in your claim experience. All DiveAssure USA plans are PRIMARY. In most cases you will get a 20%-25% discount if you opt for secondary coverage with us.
DIVE TRAVEL – HOW TO CHOOSE AMOUNT FOR “TRIP CANCELLATION”
When enrolling in one of our dive-travel plans, you will be asked to choose a sum for “Trip Cancellation Coverage per Person”. Here is how to determine the appropriate sum so that if you lose your trip investment due to a covered reason, you will be compensated according to your coverage terms and level.
- If you travel alone, state the full cost of the trip including flights, hotels, liveaboard, pre-booked non-refundable diving and/or travel services, etc.
- If you travel with a partner or family, calculate the total cost for all participants as above, and divide it by the number of participants.
- If you purchase an Annual Multi-Trip policy, do as above and choose the highest trip cost throughout your policy term.
